My favorite project from this semester was the Nōtan, because it was really different than something I had ever done before. It was very abstract and minimalistic in color palette, but there was a lot of room to throw stuff onto the page. It felt complex and simple at the same time, like a complex design made with mostly simple shapes.
In the end I ended up creating two versions of the Nōtan, one with color, and one in b&w. It was nice to see how the color highlighted the important aspects of the design.
*cough cough* the color creates emphasis *cough *cough*
