The difference between High Resolution and Low Resolution images are found within the PPI (pixels per inch). High resolution images are around 330 PPI, while Low resolution images are around 72 PPI. High resolution images are are good for things such as printing and photography. Low resolution images are good for web because computers do not naturally have a 330 PPI display, and images with more PPI will take longer time to load. They both have their place, it just depends on where you plan to display the image: on the web or in real life.
